Radio Cineola July 2010

LEBANON SPECIAL

As part of the Radio Cineola Roadshow Tour we will be broadcasting from some unusual locations over the next few months. Filmmaker Corine Shawi hosts July's show from Beirut and will be playing pieces from an original THE THE soundtrack from the short film she co-directed with Danish filmmaker and artist Nikolaj Bendix Skyum Larsen. 'Je t'aime infiniment' was filmed entirely in Lebanon and centres upon the haunting tale of two elderly sisters who live together. An uncanny story of love and loss delicately unfolds amongst scenes of vast landscapes, dead animals and fragile individuals.

Full 15 minute hi-quality download available for purchase in Showroom.

The outstanding debut from Gerard Johnson, Tony has been compared to classics Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and Taxi Driver and is one of the most important and disturbing British films of recent years. Unemployed and unemployable, Tony is a sympathetic recluse with severe social problems, an addiction to VHS action films and a horrible moustache. Occasionally he snaps and murder is the result… Featuring a star-making lead performance from Peter Ferdinando, Tony is dark, brutal and bleakly amusing and will stay with you long after you finish watching.
