We’re pleased to announce the release of the video and digital single of DJ Food’s ‘Stolen Moments’ reMix of ‘Global Eyes’, initially produced for the 10″ vinyl included with the limited edition The Comeback Special Art Book Box Set.
Strictly Kev and his DJ Food Project have been with the record label, Ninja Tune, for over 25 years. He has DJ’d across the world and mixed hundreds of hours of radio using his 30+ years of experience and vast record collection. His 2012 album, The Search Engine, featured Matt Johnson covering ‘GIANT’ from Soul Mining and he opened for THE THE during some of The Comeback Special tour in 2018.
We approached another favourite collaborator, Vicki Bennett (People Like Us), to create a video for this track. Vicki’s beautiful, kaleidoscopic video collages also graced the stage during The Comeback Special tour and she created the video for ‘We Can’t Stop What’s Coming’. She has been working in the field of audio-visual collage since 1991, repurposing pre-existing footage to craft audio and video collages with a dark and witty take on popular culture. She sees sampling and collage as folk art sourced from the palette of contemporary media and technology.
